The signature city run: about 7km of paved paths along both banks of the Melaka River, with bridges to loop back at any point. A popular 5–5.5km loop runs from the Maritime Museum to the Rempah jetty; past Kampung Morten it gets quieter and greener.

Bukit Batu Lebah Recreational Forest

Selandar, Jasin

A proper hill hike about 27km from the city: a roughly 3.3km loop up to Batu Pemandangan, a rocky platform with views over the kampung to the Straits. The trails have no signage, so going with a local guide is recommended.

Gunung Ledang via Asahan trail

Asahan, Jasin

The big one: Mount Ophir from the Melaka side, a 12.2km out-and-back from Pos Asahan, Jasin, past the Asahan waterfall area. Very challenging — rocky sections, ladders and ropes — and only for experienced hikers. You need a permit from the Johor Forestry Department and a registered guide; a strict summit cut-off time applies on day climbs.

The Melaka River Walk is the classic city run — about 7km of paved riverside paths, with a popular 5–5.5km loop between the Maritime Museum and the Rempah jetty. For a flat lap, try the lake track at Bukit Serindit recreation park; for shade and hills, the Botanical Garden and Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest.
Where can I hike near Melaka?
Bukit Beruang is the easy neighbourhood hill, with a 1.3km walk or 5km loop to a lookout. Bukit Batu Lebah in Jasin is a proper hill hike to a rocky viewpoint (a guide is recommended), and Gunung Ledang via the Asahan trail is a tough full-day climb that needs a permit and a guide.
